L.A. Wolves FC Drops First Game of 2017, 2-1, to La Maquina FC

Wolves FC suffers April Fool's Day letdown at Santa Ana Stadium

April 1, 2017 -- Los Angeles - L.A. Wolves FC undefeated streak to start the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) 2017 Spring Season has been halted.

Despite equalizing late, Wolves FC (4-1-0 overall) allowed a goal in the final 10 minutes in a 2-1 loss to La Maquina FC in a Pro Premier Division Western Conference game on Saturday night at Santa Ana Stadium.

L.A. Wolves FC Sporting Director Michael Collins said, "We fought hard to get the tying goal but we gifted La Maquina one late. That can't happen. Our job is to make sure we secure at least a point on the road and we failed to do that. Yes, La Maquina is a talented side but we knew what we were up against. We know they're a tough, defensive-minded team, and Santa Ana Stadium can be a tough place to play, be we let ourselves down and know must make sure we learn from this."

The club returns home to play SFV Scorpions FC at Toyota Sports Complex (555 Maple Street, Torrance, CA 90504) at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 9.
