L.A. Wolves FC Strikes Down Strikers FC in UPSL Spring Season Opener
Defending Western Champions GET TWO GOALS FROM FORWARD CHUCK PITTS IN WIN
March 4, 2017 -- Los Angeles - L.A. Wolves FC started the season on offense as Chuck Pitts scored twice in a 4-1 victory over Strikers FC South Coast in the UPSL 2017 Spring Season opener on Saturday night.
It also was the first official game for new Head Coach Eric Wynalda, the former U.S. Men's National Soccer Team great and U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame inductee.
L.A. Wolves FC Sporting Director Michael Collins said, "It was a solid start to the season for the club. We were able to get most of our starters on the field for this one (and) it will be important that they get more time together, but for now it was good to see it all come together with the new coaching staff. It's definitely a positive result and a very real three points. The UPSL schedule can be a tough run. Strikers FC South Coast usually brings a skilled team to play but it looked like they're still working on some things. We were ready to take advantage. Not just because we're an experienced side but because there is a collective will in this group to push forward and reach the goals that the club has set. The players see the improvements and they wand to be a part of that."
The club travels to play Valley United SC at Heritage High School Stadium (9825 Woodley Ave. North Hills, CA 91343), at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 11.
